About Us

Tim Bryan was raised in a family that loves music. From his Grandmother that played the piano and organ in church for nearly 60 years to his very talented cousin’s that are in various singing groups across the Midwest. Tim was in and out of Cover Bands throughout most of his adult life and found himself drawn to the Wedding DJ business. After DJing a couple of events for family members, he decided to start a DJ business. It did not take long for Tim to realize there is a good market for a DJ that was professional, fun, and well prepared. Soon his DJ business grew from 1 system to 6 systems.

It takes more than music to make a great DJ. In addition to his love of music, Tim has made a career in technology sales. His career in sales made him pursue public speaking and Tim became a member of www.Toastmasters.org, an international public speaking organization. Tim takes what he learned from Toast Masters, sales experience, and books he reads, and teaches his DJ’s how to be great public speakers/DJ’s.

Tim and his family have been heavily involved in Camp Jubilee, a not for profit organization that runs a  summer camp for Special Needs people. The camp is held and Camp Wesley Woods near Indianola. The camp brings in over 50 campers and requires nearly 25 volunteers to run. Tim’s wife Messina also sits on the Camp Board and is the Camp Nurse and all 3 of his children (Amara, Nicholas, and Savannah) are camp counselors or junior counselors. During the Camp, Tim runs Music Mania which is Karaoke and camp songs for the campers.

Equipment

A Special Event uses only professional grade sound equipment. The equipment is reliable and capable of providing outstanding quality of sound for both music and voice. Our Microphones can be used for the toasts/speeches and any other MC'ing that needs to be done. Our systems have built in redundancy so the music never quits at your event.

With thousands of song titles A Special Event is able to supply nearly any type of music for your event. Some of music includes..50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90', Dance, Rock, Country, Top 40, Alternate, and Modern Rock.


Projector and Screen

If you have a slide show or DVD you would like to play for your guests, we can rent you a great projector and screen for your reception. Call for details.
